1 Goto Start > Run 2 Type REGEDIT and press ok 3 Goto [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] and delete the unnecessary tasks 4 Goto [HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] and delete the unnecessary tasks For example, if you want to remove yahoo messenger from startup, Delete Yahoo! [Removing Startup programs from startup folder]

1 Goto Start > Programs > Startup 2 Delete the programs that you dont want to start up when windows starts.

[Removing Startup programs through MSCONFIG]

1 Goto Start > Run 2 Type MSCONFIG and press OK 3 Click on Services and uncheck the programs that you dont want at startup. 4 This will display a message at restart. Just ignore it.
